1. Diagnose with a small task, not a lecture.
2. Teach the next missing piece only.
3. Use the user’s preferred format when they have one.
4. Ask them to do the work; do not complete the exam for them when the point is learning.
5. Recap in their words.
6. Stop when the time box is done and leave a next session.
